In a hurry? Here are the best products at a glance.
Having a garage space is definitely a perk. It gives you a place to park your car away from the ice and snow and often plays double duty as a workshop or storage room. The problem is that sometimes in the winter, it’s too cold to enjoy. That’s why we researched some of the best products available and put together this garage space heater buying guide. Before we get started, let’s look at some of the key features you should know.
Type: There are 3 different kinds of heaters. One is a floor heater, which is portable. The others are wall mount and ceiling mount. There are good things about all of them and you’ll find them all here.
Power Source: We included different types of power sources because each has its benefits. You’ll find heaters powered by electric, kerosene, natural gas, and propane. That way, no matter what you prefer, you’ll be able to find something you love.
Power: This is the operating power of the electric heaters. Although we do have a variety, most of them are electric and looking at the wattage is a good way to compare them. They range from 750 to 5000. For the propane and gas style, compare the BTU’s
Voltage: Again, this only applies to the electric heaters. A typical wall outlet is 120 volts so 110 and 120 volt heaters plug right in. 220/240 volt heaters will usually require some rewiring or junction box.
Size: Sizes vary quite a bit. For the most part, the largest heaters are those designed for wall mounting though there are some large portable ones, too. Ceiling mounted models are a little smaller in size but they’re just as powerful.
Warranty: Most of these warranties cover 1 or 3 years though we did find one that goes up to 5 years. Make sure you read your warranty well so you know what’s covered just in case something goes wrong.
Now that you know what to look for, let’s get into the good stuff: our product reviews. If you’re in a hurry, don’t worry. We put our top and budget picks right at the top of the list so you can get a good idea of the range that’s available. Stick around if you can, there are a variety of heaters here and you never know which one will work best for you. Ok, we’re all warmed up. Let’s go!
